Christine's Message For 2008 LP Delegates
How You, As Delegates, Decide Which Candidates Participate in the CSPAN Debate (How LP presidential
candidates qualify to participate at the Denver Convention & in the CSPAN debate, includes copy of
letter from Shane Cory describing the Delegate Token Procedure.)
2008 LP Delegates:
Although I've met many of you, there are those I haven't had an opportunity to visit personally - I look
forward to meeting all of you in Denver shortly, and invite you meanwhile view VIDEOS of my recent
speeches, interviews and debates, as well as take a look at the media coverage (more than any other
LP presidential candidate has received as of March 31, 2008) on my MEDIA page. (I've appeared on
numerous AM-Radio talk shows nationwide - a good number of them on 50,000-watt stations - I've already
reached millions sharing with them our message of liberty, my campaign, libertarianism, and the LP.
During my campaign, I visited the San Diego, Oregon, New Mexico,
Indiana, Illinois, the tri-state [Pennsylvania/New Jersey/West Virginia]
in PA, and the 5-state (Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa) in
MO, Libertarian Conventions.
I am a true libertarian. I will never compromise libertarian principles.
I am a firm believer in individual liberty, personal responsibility, free markets, free immigration, and a small government limited only to its constitutionally authorized functions - the principles our nation was founded upon and which once made us both great and greatly admired worldwide. Our nation achieved that greatness and respect, and we reaped the fruits of our labor because we lived in a society that welcomed innovation, creativity, and self-reliance. We didn't look to a government to care for us or protect us, we looked to ourselves - and it worked! And you know what? It will still work - if we return to the values we as a people once cherished.
I believe you - far better than a government bureaucrat - can best spend your money to benefit you and your family. I don't think you need government bureaucrats to make economic and social decisions for you. I trust you can do a much better job for yourself! That's why I want to get the government out of our lives. You should make the decisions for your life. I should make the decisions for mine. You should be free to control your life - as others must be free to control theirs. Tyranny or liberty - it's your choice.
My campaign theme is "Americans Awake!"
Dramatically shrinking the size, power and cost of the federal government by limiting government to its constitutionally authorized functions, adopting a non-interventionist foreign policy, and creation of a stable economy by ending government's artificially controlled economy - will result in a more prosperous peaceful United States for all Americans.
On every issue, you will find that I express libertarian solutions to every crisis facing the American people.
A fellow libertarian writer and columnist at The Nolan Chart Website (of which he is founder), Walt
Thiessen, summarized key areas of my platform accurately and succinctly when he said of me:
- She wants us to get out of Iraq and to bring our troops home from around the world.
- She is committed to defending America's shores.
- She wants to end foreign aid.
- She is opposed to NAFTA, CAFTA, WTO, etc. and favors free trade instead.
- She is a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment.
- She wants smaller government and wants to end government overspending, eliminate the IRS, and abolish unconstitutional programs.
- She wants to abolish the Federal Reserve and restore hard currency.
- She pledges to veto every unconstitutional bill presented to her by Congress.
- She opposes Real ID.
- She favors restoring and protecting the Bill of Rights.
- She opposes Federal discriminatory practices such as affirmative action and quotas, and she opposes preferential treatment.
- She opposes the use of torture under any circumstances.
- She wants to end Federal involvement in education.
- She wants to restore control to parents on subjects such as religion, choice of schools, choice of curricula, etc.
- She'll fight all forms of pollution by the Federal government, noting correctly that it is the #1 polluter in the world.
I am or health freedom on every issue as I believe you own your body and have a fundamental right to make choices for yourself free from federal government intrusion.
Again, view and listen to my interviews and speeches; and do communicate with me - I welcome hearing from you prior to our meeting in Denver.
I ask that delegates who want to see me in the CSPAN debate bring their tokens to me at Table 17. Thank you.
I ask that you give me the honor of bringing our message of liberty - of libertarian solutions - to many more Americans by electing me as your 2008 LP Presidential Candidate. I bring true libertarian solutions to Americans: women, minorities, young adults, and men nationwide sharing the benefits of liberty: peace and prosperity. Together, let's achieve liberty in America. Thank you.

To Clarify - Since I am receiving so many inquiries about "qualifying" as a candidate to participate at National LP Convention
I write this since it seems many Libertarians are unaware of the criteria which will be used to determine which LP
Presidential candidates will be able to participate in the CSPAN debate held at the LP National Covention in
Denver this May. I am attaching a letter (below) from LP Executive Director Shane Cory which explains the criteria.
Over the past two weeks, I have received several inquiries from Libertarians concerned about how a
presidential candidate "qualifies" to participate at the National LP Convention in Denver and/or "qualifies" to
participate in the CSPAN debate. Several of you are concerned about the "Liberty Decides" program and whether
that has anything to with qualifying as a candidate to participate - it does not. I write this letter to clarify it,
since so many are asking about this.
It is my understanding, participation in the CSPAN debate is dependent on a candidate receiving between 70-106
tokens from delegates before Saturday morning at the Convention. Every delegate will be given a token when they
are credentialed, and a candidate must have a percentage (10%) which means between 70-106 tokens to be allowed to
participate. This is what I have been told by Secretary Bob Sullentrup-LNC. I have confirmed this with Michelle
Poague as well (who is part of organizing the LP Convention). (SEE COPY OF LETTER FROM SHANE CORY REGARDING I
NCLUSION IN THE CSPAN DEBATES BELOW. Letter was sent to me (and other presidential candidates) and copied to
David Nolan & Bob Sullentrup.)
Thus, "Liberty Decides" has nothing to do with me being "qualified" as a candidate. It is simply a fundraiser
for the LP - it has no bearing whatsoever on my being a candidate or participating in the CSPAN debate.
(Visit my Liberty Decides explanation page at: http://www.libertarianforpresident.com/About-Liberty.php ).
That program has nothing to do with my being a candidate whatsoever. Money given to it in no way helps me - thus,
as far as my campaign is concerned, I do not care what amount is raised (or not raised) there because it has
nothing to with my campaign - it's just a means the LNC is using our names as candidates to raise money for the LP.
I am a LP Presidential candidate, and I will be at the National LP Convention in Denver.
I will qualify to participate in the CSPAN debate if enough delegates give me their tokens.
DELEGATES: Please bring your token and give to me at our token collection at Table 17. Thank you for your support.
And, I look forward to meeting so many of in Denver. Please introduce yourselves.

COPY OF SHANE CORY'S LETTER REGARDING INCLUSION IN CSPAN DEBATES:
From: "Shane Cory"
Subject: [Presidential] Inclusion in C-SPAN Debates
Date: Tue, March 4, 2008 6:15 pm
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear LP Presidential Candidate:
One of our Party’s founders, David Nolan, e-mailed Convention Oversight Committee Chair Bob Sullentrup to suggest we
simplify the methodology for determining who participates in the presidential debate on Saturday night at the Denver
Convention. Mr. Nolan’s idea was to use the presidential petition signature tokens in place of the ‘arcane and
complex’ methodology we had announced in December based on what Geoff Neale had used in 2004.
For details of that proposal, see the Charleston minutes, page 49, http://www.lp.org/archives/lnc20071208.pdf.
After Bob Sullentrup discussed this among members of the Convention Oversight Committee and after broaching the idea
with the LNC, the Convention Oversight Committee has decided Mr. Nolan’s recommendation is very attractive.
It is objective, easy to tabulate and puts the decision into the hands of the Convention delegates.
Accordingly, participation in the Saturday evening debate, which in 2004 was broadcast on C-SPAN, will be granted
to those who manage to collect a number of signature tokens that meets or exceeds 10% of the credentialed
delegates as announced at the Saturday morning business session. These tokens are due in to the LNC Secretary
Bob Sullentrup at the end of the Saturday morning business session.
The Convention Oversight Committee expects the threshold to be around 70 tokens. Atlanta had a cumulative
total of 814 delegates and stood at 679 on Saturday morning. Since there will be no more than 1051 delegates in
2008, the threshold will be no more than 106. You may be aware that it takes 30 such signature tokens to be
awarded 16 minutes of convention time on Sunday for nominating and seconding speeches. However, there is a
Bylaws proposal that would raise that number to 82. For more information, see the Delegation Chair’s Manual
at http://www.lp.org/archives/delegation_chairs_manual_2008.pdf.
Meanwhile, if you have any concerns or questions, please contact LNC Secretary and Convention Oversight Committee
Chair Bob Sullentrup at rwsully@charter.net.
Best Regards,
Shane Cory
