| "We want no war of conquest. War should never be entered upon until every agency of peace has failed." -William McKinley
The Iraq War
Immediate Withdrawal
My first act as President would be to order the immediate withdrawal of all U.S. troops and all U.S. government personnel from Iraq.
As fast as they can be safely loaded onto helicopters and other transport,
I will have them withdrawn.
Peace delayed is peace denied. I will stop the deaths and maiming of our men and women in Iraq, and end the continued deaths and maiming of Iraqi civilians resulting from our occupation.
As for the equipment and munitions, I would have as much as can be safely be taken with our troops during their withdrawal
retrieved, and the rest can be left as well as destroyed. I am for the safe and immediate withdrawal of all our troops,
and will not allow more of their lives to be risked for the sake of equipment.

To me, Memorial Day should be a solemn day of respect, remembrance, reflection and honor. But recently,
I've been disgusted by the 'crocodile tears' and words spoken on Memorial Day by the very egotists responsible for
so much bloodshed. The sacrifice suffered due to Bush's war against Iraq: approximately 3,300 American soldiers
dead, over 24,000 soldiers who have come home maimed and traumatized including more than 1,300 who've lost arms
and/or legs and more than 4,600 who have incurred severe head/brain injury, and tens of thousands of Iraqi civilian
deaths due to our invasion and occupation of Iraq...I am repulsed by the words from our 'leaders' acting as if they
care about loss of human life. War is a sad but necessary reality in a world that believes love is impossible and
where self-defense of peace-loving peoples must be strong, but war for the sake of nothing but fulfillment of arrogant
ego agendas is deplorable. I invite you to listen to my friend's wry 'Gen. Victor Guerremonde On Memorial Day'
which well expresses the darkness of the sad reality and mentality of those who care nothing about the deaths they are
responsible for, yet who put on a show pretending they care. Meanwhile, the carnage continues and our elected
'representatives' talk but do nothing to actually stop it.

In this weeks' presidential radio address, entitled 'The Way Forward In Iraq,'
Bush tells us he met with veterans and military families who 'support our troops and their mission in Iraq', and
that these men and women's sacrifices and suffering are in service of 'their important mission to protect the
United States.'
I say go tell it to the graves of 3,632 Americans - all of whom died because of your unjust invasion and
occupation of Iraq, and tell it to the 26,558 wounded Americans --whose bodies are burned, amputated,
riddled with shrapnel, paralyzed, and brain damaged, go tell it to the families of all of them ...go tell
it to our men and women on their second, third and fourth tours...go continue the big lie--that they die and
suffer 'to protect the U.S.'...
I invite you to listen: 'One Libertarian's Response to President Bush's July 21, 2007 Radio Address'.
